Elmer Joseph Miller passed away at the age of 91 on November 20, 2016 at the Villages Regional Medical Center, Florida. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio where he lived and worked most of his life. Growing up as a young boy during the Great Depression, he helped support his family as a "newsie," selling newspapers. Part of our greatest generation, he joined the Air Force immediately after graduating high school, and flew nearly 25 missions over Japan. Elmer Joseph Miller passed away at the age of 91 on November 20, 2016 at the Villages Regional Medical Center, Florida. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio where he lived and worked most of his life. Growing up as a young boy during the Great Depression, he helped support his family as a "newsie," selling newspapers. Part of our greatest generation, he joined the Air Force immediately after graduating high school, and flew nearly 25 missions over Japan. After the war, he graduated from Ohio State and continued his life of service as a teacher and principal of Princeton City Schools for nearly 45 years. He received a masters at UC, did doctorate work at Miami University of Ohio, and served as a councilman for the city of Evendale. He enjoyed gardening, model building, needle point, and traveling. Elmer was a devoted husband to Martha Isabelle (Johnson), for their 61 years of marriage, until her death in 2010. He never remarried. He was the loving and proud father of five boys; William Jeffery (Carolyn) deceased, Steven Charles (Terri), Mitchell Elmer, Christopher Carter (Heidi), and Dana Johnson, deceased. He dearly loved and adored his 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Louanna (Born) Miller, his brother Charles "Donald" Miller, and sister Charlotte (Neal) O'Leary. He is survived by his youngest sister Ruth Ann (Malcolm) Peele. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 30 November at 10:00 AM. Memorial service to begin at 11:00, in the Schmidt Dhonau Kucner funeral home; 10980 Reading Road, Sharonville, Ohio. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
